CALGARY, ALBERTA (May 2, 2019) – One Day Web Group is proud to announce that they are the title sponsor for the 2019 Banff Jasper Relay. The Banff Jasper Relay is an internationally recognized running race occurring on the first Saturday in June since 2005. The Relay supports Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada. Runners of the relay have raised over $500,000 for the charity since 2005.
As title sponsor, One Day Web Group is providing a Race Director, website design and hosting, administrative support, and logistics for the Relay.
“We couldn’t be more pleased to sponsor the Banff Jasper Relay as it celebrates its 15th anniversary. The relay is near and dear to us, and our team has been actively involved with the event since its inception. We look forward to a long partnership with race organizers,” said Blair Shunk, One Day Web Group Founder and Banff Jasper Relay Race Director.
“We are thrilled the Banff Jasper Relay is receiving this support from One Day Web Group and so grateful to the runners for their ongoing support,” said Susan Marshall, CEO of Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada. “The money raised by the Relay this year will help fund a new resource for caregivers of those affected by a brain tumour. This resource is much needed and will make a difference in the lives of those impacted. The funds raised by Banff Jasper Relay have already made a significant difference to various other projects including research. We are so grateful to everyone who fundraises for us, as those funds provide hope for those on the brain tumour journey.”
About the Banff Jasper Relay
The Banff Jasper Relay is 260 kilometres in total distance, and the 15 stages of the race vary from 14.9 km to 21 km in length. The relay starts at Castle Junction and ends in Jasper, where the post-race dinner and awards party is the biggest social event in Jasper every year, serving 700 happy people with dinner and drinks.
The relay is organized by Albertans and uses Alberta or Canadian based suppliers wherever possible. The relay also provides economic support to the communities along the race route, as approximately 1,000 runners, supporters and volunteers purchase accommodation, fuel and meals for the event.
The event is dedicated to two racing competitors, Garth Huck and David O’Brien, who may have lost their battle with brain cancer, but are running with us in spirit. More information on Garth and David can be found on the website (https://www.banff-jasper-relay.com/why-we-relay).
